"Drug shortages cause real disruptions in patients’ lives, often resulting in interrupted or delayed treatment," CP3's Associate Director Dr. Katie Suda told UPMC News. Dr. Suda discussed her new paper, "Differences in Drug Shortages in the US and Canada," published in JAMA on October 31. Suda and lead author Dr. Mina Tadrous of the University of Toronto also recorded a podcast with JAMA to review the paper and findings. The team found that drug-related supply chain issue reports were 40% less likely to result in meaningful drug shortages in Canada compared with the United States.
